In the previous post, Chakra 101 - Balance, Heal, Thrive, I covered the basics of chakras as well as the Root and Sacral chakra. This post I’m focusing on the 3rd and 4th chakra in the list of 7 main chakras namely the Solar Plexus and Heart chakra
3. Solar Plexus
Associated Crystals: Citrene, Labradorite, amber
Affirmation: I have perfect power and control. I trust that I am balanced in all ways.
The Solar Plexus chakra is located on the diaphragm near the stomach. It is associated with your sense of control, personal power, self – confidence, trust, gut feelings, sense of responsibility and self – respect. It is also known as the psychic center from where you pick up emotions from the people around you if you are sensitive. Our emotions are experienced from this chakra and is where we store our emotional baggage. If you clear out your emotional baggage this chakra will become more balanced and your gut feelings about people and situations will be much stronger.
Physically it is linked with the stomach, liver, pancreas spleen and gall bladder. When this chakra is blocked you will feel out of control in your own life, have a weak sense of trust within yourself, have low self-confidence, and feel depressed and confused.
When this chakra is over active you can become stubborn, judgemental, wanting to control everything to the point of being a perfectionist, develop eating disorders and experience excessive worry over others opinions of you. Nervousness and mental clutter can also be felt.
Physical manifestations of an unbalanced solar plexus are nausea, liver dysfunction, indigestion, stomach ulcers, diabetes, and arthritis.
4. Heart Chakra
Associated Crystals: Rose quartz, green and pink fluorite
Affirmations: It is safe for me to give and receive love. I give and receive love easily. I love.
The Heart chakra is located on the spine in the centre of the chest area, also known as the heart centre. The Heart chakra corresponds to our ability to give and receive love, compassion, kindness, joy, courage and forgiveness.
Physically it is connected to the heart, circulatory system, lungs, breasts, shoulders, rib cage, arms, and upper back.
Blocked you may experience a sense of loneliness, closed off to your emotions, unloved, victim “poor me” mentality, paranoia, fear of rejection, shy, bitter, hatred and a lack of empathy towards others.
Over active you may experience a sense of possessiveness, clinging to people and possessions, become demanding, sacrificing yourself, giving too much of yourself, feelings of grief, anger and jealousy.
Left unbalanced, the heart chakra can cause heart attacks and heart problems, allergies that affect the lungs, asthma, lung cancer, breast cancer, arm, shoulder and upper back problems, blocked arteries and blood pressure problems.
